I voted for Elif Bilgin age 16. Her project is called "going bananas" or "creating bioplastics from banana peels." I believe that her project could better our world more than all the other projects. I believe this because her project would help with polution of our planet which I believe is a problem in society today.
When you look around on the streets you see plastic trash(yes even in Singapore). With Elif's new invention that plastic trash could instead of sitting there waiting for someone to take it to the trash, decompose itself. Even with the plastic trash that does get taken to the landfills it takes an estimated 1,000 years to decompose plastic that is petroleum based.
With this new project we can make safe, clean, and earth friendly plastic. Even though there is potatoe based plastic we eat potatoes so with this product we can use part of our trash to make plastic not part of our dinner. That is why I voted for Elif Bilgin's project "going bananas."
